Sarah Aubrey, Principal
Sarah Beth Aubrey is the owner of Prosperity Ag and Energy Resources, a Prosperity Ag, LLC company. Ms. Aubrey’s company is a full-service funding opportunities firm which aids entrepreneurs, communities, universities, trade associations, and cooperatives in obtaining funds through the use of government or foundation programs in the areas of agriculture, energy, environment and food manufacturing. As a Certified Grant Administrator, she aids clients in networking with state and federal agencies and trade groups to foster all areas of project development. Since 2007, Ms. Aubrey has written over 400 successful grants in 33 states; funding for these awards has yielded nearly $50 million. The majority of Ms. Aubrey’s clients pursue projects to utilize or develop renewable energy, energy efficiency or energy technologies on farms, in rural small businesses, and in small and large communities.
Recent successful applications from Prosperity include recycling projects in the areas of biomass, biofuels, municipal power, geothermal, wind and energy efficiency. She pursues high quality, well-researched projects from clients with a vested interest in building the U.S. renewable industry or improving energy efficiency while promoting American jobs and managing the environmental impacts of energy production. Her client acquisition process is selective by maintaining a high level of focus, outsourcing additional expertise as necessary to produce the highest quality work. Ms. Aubrey also provides services for the development of proposals, market research, feasibility studies, energy audits and RFPS (requests for proposals) for firms issuing funding announcements.
A member of the National Speakers Association (NSA), Ms. Aubrey provides professional speaking services focusing on entrepreneurship, small business development strategies, and securing funds for businesses, communities, and higher education. She offers workshops, keynote presentations, customized conference calls and meeting facilitation. Recent clients include Indiana Farm Bureau, Public Policy of Virginia, Midwest Women in Ag, Ohio State University and other trade groups and associations. Ms Aubrey also hosts an annual conference call series on key renewable energy and energy efficiency topics.
Always interested in gaining broader perspectives, she is actively involved in various leadership organizations. Ms. Aubrey is 2011 alumna of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, was recently accepted into the National Speakers Association (NSA) and is in the final stages of her Women Business Enterprise (WBE) Certification. On a quarterly basis, Ms. Aubrey facilitates discussion among a personally selected, influential board of advisors who volunteer their time sharing expertise in agriculture, energy and environment. Ms. Aubrey is also a 2010 graduate of the prestigious Indiana Agricultural Leadership, where she now volunteers on the Curriculum Development Committee and coordinates alumni networking events.
Ms. Aubrey holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications from the University of Illinois. She is a member of the Writer’s Center of Indiana where she consults fellow members on developing successful book proposals suitable for publishers. A full time entrepreneur since 2004, she created and sold a direct marketing business and is the author of two non-fiction books with over 50,000 copies sold worldwide.
Erin Smith, Project Manager
Erin Smith serves as Project Manager for Prosperity Ag and Energy Resources, a full-service funding opportunities firm that aids entrepreneurs, communities, universities, trade associations, and cooperatives in obtaining funds through the use of government or foundation programs in the areas of agriculture, energy, environment and food manufacturing. As Project Manager she leads the marketing and client correspondence initiative and is also a key grant writer for the firm.
As brand manager she is chiefly responsible for all areas of Prosperity marketing. Ms. Smith writes and distributes a monthly newsletter to over 500 energy, ag and environmental industry professionals. The newsletters offer funding announcements, industry news, prosperity updates and successful Prosperity projects. Additionally, she creates press releases, controls website development, and manages Prosperity’s multiple social media profiles. Ms. Smith also uses her creative eye to design marketing collateral for Prosperity, such as flyers, business cards, and trade show material. She coordinates quarterly board meetings and conference calls led by Prosperity Principal, Sarah Aubrey, and facilitate scheduling, meeting updates, minutes, and follow-up for each board event.
Since 2010, Ms. Smith has assisted with over 80 grant submissions, across 11 states, totaling over $3M in funding requests for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and recycling projects. She has had a hand in applications for programs such as, USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), USDA Value-Added Program Grant (VAPG), OED Conserving Hoosier Industrial Power (CHIP), IDEM Recycling Market Development Program (RMDP) and more. Ms. Smith develops proposals and contracts for grant writing, speaking, and other Prosperity service areas. She assists with packaging and submission of applications and is responsible for client and agency follow up post-submission and post-award. She also interviews clients and develops press releases and articles for successful projects.
A 2008 graduate of Purdue University, Ms. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations. Throughout her years at Purdue, she interned in public relations, advertising and sales at the Indiana Beef Cattle Association and WLFI-TV 18. Prior to Prosperity, she also developed hands-on experience through community development projects where she created a marketing communications plans with the help of grant funding for multiple clients in the Greater Lafayette area. |
